Looking for Cool

I own a 1977 F-100 and would like to add some cooler air into my engine compartment. :D
What is the lowest cost method to achieve this goal?

I like the look of old fashioned hood scoops, like Harwood, but I am not sure that is the best way to go.

Any F100 buddies out there that have this mod?

If so I would really like to see a pic of the final results and to know how well it worked.

the cheepest way would be to space the rear of the hood up about a 1" or so
but its not going to look that nice.
