Howdy all. I have an issue with one of my rear lever shocks off my ’48 GMC that I am doing a frame off restoration on.
One of my shocks has a bad seal and I need to disassemble the shock completely to replace the seal. The seal in question is the one that goes around the shank between the outer lever and the shock housing.
I would like to use the one I have without forking out $120 for a new one.
Has anyone had any luck pulling the lever shank out of the shock housing?
I have tried using a come-a-long in conjunction with a baring puller along with heading up the inter lever but have had no luck.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
1948 GMC
