Hello from St Peters, MO! I've been hovering for a while since my truck ('52 3100 1/2 ton) has been in TX while I have been getting my garage cleaned out, but now it's on its way and I can begin my restoration/modifications!

I have always known I was going to make a fast truck out of this old beast and I know that certain mods will need to be made, especially to the front end and frame in general.

I know there are many options to add a new IFS to the existing frame, but I'm not sure I want to just weld in new parts to an old frame. Can anyone out there suggest an alternative frame that would work under the body of my '52? Surely there has to be some info out there on this, I just can't find any.

I suppose I would prefer this type option since it's pretty simple to modify a frame to accept a body than to accept a new front end and drive train, etc. What that boils down to is that a junk yard frame is much cheaper than a Mustang II IFS!

Mr_Mac,

You could use a long bed S-10 frame. I purchased a frame swap kit from AD Engineering. It was a little less expensive than the IFS Swap. I got my frame for free. The guy I got it from said I could have it if I would haul the truck away. Hope this helps.

Very good! That actually confirms an answer I had received once before. I took a look at AD Engineering's (http://www.ad-engineering.com/) site and it looks like a winner to me! Thanks again!
