Hi there, my name is CORT and I am new to the board. I just aquired a '60 GMC 1000 with a 305A V-6 engine and I need some help with the oil filter. Fram's P/N listed for this truck/engine is CH33APL, but it is WAY too big. So I tried to get a filter for the inline 235 engine for that year, Fram's P/N CH200PL, and although it is the correct diameter the inside hole is too big and overall it seems to be about 1 1/2" to 2" short. I cannot find the correct filter anywhere online, so can someone here help? If you need more info just ask. Here are pics of the truck and filters.... Thanks in advance.

Hey, Cort! Welcome aboard! I looked around tring to find an answer to your question and found nearly the same things with a couple of exceptions. First, Summit parts has an AC Delco filter (ACF-PF24 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ACF%2DPF24&N=700+400721+4294818380+4294908396+4294908247+115&autoview=sku)) that may or may not be the right one. Second, I found many references to marine applications as these were quite common in boats so you might want to look around there.

Have you contacted GMC directly about your filter woes? You can also have them verify the engine serial number and they should then be able to direct you to the correct part or suitable substitue.

Good luck!
