So i want to keep a straight 6, but want to think about upgrading the 6. My question is, how easy is it to swap the 216 with the 250 or 292? i know how to do a 235 swap, but is there any more required for the 250 or 292? knowing that i want to keep 6 cylinders, and IF there is extra work to make them fit, would it be smarter to just go with a newer 235 because its alot easier to throw in there?
thank you,
Andrew

Andrew, I know those swaps have been done. I believe the newer 6's are slightly longer. The modification will require a shorter water pump or moving the radiator (something like that). But it will work. Maybe someone can give some better info.

Rich is right on the raditor. It has to be placed infront of the rad support.stock 235 its on the rear side of rad support.Other than that everything should fit............

well that sounds easy, do you know if i have to do anything special on the front or rear mounts? how about the gas pedal, the same?

Best guess on the motor mounts and gas pedal is once you do a swap everything else becomes "customized" ... Since the Bell Housing won't be moved I believe the break and gas pedal thru the floor board should work but may have to go with a cable set up to the carb. Lots of kits out there for that.
