Last weekend as my wife and I were out on a motorcycle ride and ran across a 1949 GMC truck setting behind repair shop in small town Texas. We stopped to take a close look at the truck but was hesitant to get too nosing seeing the shop was closed and no one there.
We took a few pictures and yesterday called up the shop owner to ask about the truck. To my delight, he told me the truck was for sale… I will go pick it up Saturday…. Yea!
Anyways, one of the pictures we took was of the data plate inside the drivers door and hoping someone can share with me what they can get from it.
Serial Number. FC 152 3621
Certified Net Horsepower 85.5 at 3000 RPM
Maximum Gross Weight 5,8000 LBS
Also, is it safe to assume that the serial number is the Vin?
Thanks for ya'lls help and I am looking forward to spending time in the forum as I start my first restoration project.
