So I have been shopping for a new project and as a nerdy engineer, part of my research involves comparing the "value range" of the vehicle. That published range of values that an old car is worth. So I have been using Gold Book, Kelley, and NADA.

I noticed tha the range that NADA quotes for a collector truck is far wider than say the same manufacturer and year for an automobile. Gold Book, Kelly and Collector Car Market give no where near that same range.

So why does NADA display such a large range (low to high) for old trucks?

NADA applies a little better value range by factoring in reality. Goldbook based on auction results, which is a far cry from reality. NADA uses sales of all condition levels. IMO Goodbook is over inflated and some of their data appears "cooked" to me. The other sources you list, are using GB data and offsetting the numbers to cover regional values.
