History
The truck, assembled in January 1961 at the San Jose, California assembly plant, was given as a retirement gift by the Ford Motor Company to a long-time employee, Willard Harris. (His name plate is mounted on the dash.) After his death the truck passed briefly to his son, and then to a non-family member with the intent to restore. Under the care of this third owner the truck was given a valve job, but no restoration work was performed. We are the fourth owners. During 2003 and 2004 my sons began restoring the vehicle focusing on the engine compartment. As you can see by the pictures, they did a nice job. They also purchased the parts I listed above, and these are still in their original packaging as we received them. My older son left for the army and college in 2005--progress has come to a stand still and it is time to pass this fine truck on to a good home.
