Corvette Rear in a '53 F100

I want to put corvette front and rear independant suspension and rearend from a 1989 corvette in my 1953 F100. My problem is before I buy the donar corvette I want to be sure I know what I am getting into. I understand the corvette rearend measures 61" from hub to hub. The original rear measures 54". Has anyone completed this swap, if so, what did you do to accomodate the width differences? I really don't want fat fenders or to tub the bed.
