im looking for ideas for my project. im looking into building a 1948-1956 Ford truck. i was thinking of chopping it and raising the bed a few inches to get bigger boots underneath it. the power plant would be a fuel injected 5.0L out of a early 90's mustang hokked up to a 9 bolt rearend out of a bronco. the front would have mustang II suspension but i am still deciding to go with either air bags or leaf in the back. my father has to rear air bags left over from his street rod i could use for free... the only thing is that im a 16 year old highschool student with a limited budget consisting of my pay checks every 2 weeks. anyone have some input/ideas?

First things first...any time someine uses the word free when dealing with parts for your truck, the next question you should have is, "When can I get that?"

It sounds like you have a good plan already in knowing what you want. I would first develop a budget you can live with and then stick to it understanding, of course that you will have budget overruns once in awhile.

Do you have a vehicle in sight already or are you still searching for a cadidate?

well a buddy of mine has a 1953 Mercury 1/2 ton... but he is asking quite a bit. but he said i can get a straigt up trade for it if u buy my uncles Studabaker 1/2 ton and trade... but i dont know what i want. im looking for something under $3000 total. i want to go with a rad rod theme.. chop the cab about 3-4 inches... i want to find a cab that is only 3 wondow... i dont like the 5 window look... but other then that i am still looking for other trucks. went to both our local auto wreckers and all they have are half ton international's which i dont want to get.
