i just bought a 1950 chevrolet 3100. i love it, it runs and most every thing works, but it needs work, mainly on the body. the first thing i want to do is fix the cab. the front mounts are basically gone, on the left side there is nothing left, and on the right, there is not much holding it to the frame. where should i start, and what would be the easiest way to repair this. thanx orfordbomb@hotmail.com

one expensive way to fix it is to buy another truck and use its frame or body. I wouldnt recommend that, but if the rusted area is in the body, and not on the frame so much, then what i would say is to get some sheetmetal, cut it to the right dementions (a grinder cuts really well if you have limited tools :) )
and then either weld it to the floorboard and drill the hole in the proper spot, or cut out the area completely and weld in place of it. I had the same problem on my passenger. There waz no strength at all to the floor, there were rust holes in it and it was like aluminium foil. Pretty crappy, but now i did that and its a beast! got teh hole drilled and it didnt take to much work at all.
