Michael Watkins' '63 Chevy Suburban
Above you see a Red, 1954 Chevrolet, 5 window, 1/2 ton, short bed and a Green, 1963 Chevrolet Suburban.  Both are the joy of Michael Watkins of Greeley, Colorado.

The 1954 was original, with a re-built 235.  The engine is stock except for the cast Fenton headers. Michael a  local muffler shop install 2 1/2 inch stainless twin pipes with smitty mufflers. The sound, he said was very smooth and mellow.  He had had never owned anything with a six, but over time, he really came to enjoy the old stovebolt.

Michael  purchased the truck from the lead singer of the old pop-rock band "Firefall".  The trucks is pretty solid and in mostly original condition. A tire change saw the addition of a set of

Goodyear Wrangler HT tires.  Michael comment's that " These are great tires for old trucks, they have an open tread design and solid sidewalls that resemble original tires but provide modern safety and handling". Over a period of time, Michael replaced the springs and shocks on this old hauler, but  the truck remained pretty much stock until a space requirement force him to sell this classic.
Not to fear,  Michael was able to sniff of a low production 1963 Chevrolet Suburban just outside Greeley, Colorado.   The Suburban is unusual in that it is 100% original.  It was purchased new in Colorado by an airplane pilot/racer/mechanic.  The pervious owner had taken the back seat out and used the truck daily.  It was well maintained and in very good condition.

The interior showed little wear and had been covered. Overall, the interior still looked very new. The driver's seat was the only area needing recovering.  It had never been hit, and only some minor rust along the door sills and back fenders marked is use.  The green and white paint scheme is original as well.

The documentation that came with the truck indicated the 292 six option, as well as the 90lb
clutch for the 3-speed transmission.  It has chrome bumpers, trim and grille.  Another option was the rear tailgate vs the doors.
